Greetings, I’m Jae Seung, and I live and work in New York.
By profession, I am a hedge fund data scientist. Outside of work, I spend my time chasing things that are much harder to quantify: good jazz, better food, meaningful books, and conversations that linger long after they end.
I’ve always believed that the most interesting lessons rarely come from where you expect them. Sometimes they come from a paper, sometimes from a stranger in a cafe, and sometimes from a late-night conversation with a Lyft driver. This blog is a collection of those moments - observations, essays, recipes, travels, and reflections - as I try to make a little more sense of the world and of myself.
You’ll find these stories written in both Korean and English. Some are thoughtful, some are lighthearted, and a few may wander more than they should. But they are all honest.
If any of them resonate with you, I’m glad you’re here. Welcome.
